History:

This was one of Gary Goodfellow's 1985 GSXR 750 Production series race bikes. That year he took The BC Motorcycle Racing 750 Production Series (Westwood), The Canadian National Production Series (CMA) and The Can Am Challenge Series 750 Production (AMA and CMA) titles. I bought the bike from Gary at Vancouver Suzuki Jan 30th, 1986 and have been riding it most seasons, May through October.

For the past 15 - 20 years, I've  done all maintenance to the bike but prior to that I used to take it to Gary's mechanic Carl. At one point we put on a Yoshimura road race pipe from an 1100 super bike and bored the 29mm carbs out to 33mm. We got 110 HP at the wheel tuning it on the dyno and the bike was an animal. Very fast but very peaky and obscenely loud so a few years ago I put it back to factory 29mm carbs and a factory pipe. The only engine mods on it presently is a Factory Pro +5 ignition advancer, Dyna ignition coils and a K&N Filtercharger.

There have been several attempted thefts and that resulted with me having to replace some of the bodywork. Initially I purchased Airtech bodywork which is pretty good but not as nice as the OEM plastics. So, I decided to make an effort to bring it back to it's former glory and started collecting parts to do a partial restoration. It now sports all factory OEM plastics, OEM fiberglass belly and a custom laid fiberglass solo cowl. I swapped out the original 18" wheels and forks and put in a 1993 GSXR 750 front end, wheels and brakes and added a fully adjustable Ohlins rear shock. The improvement is like night and day. I have the original wheels and front suspension safely tucked away so that I can put it right back to factory.
